Police are appealing for information after a man was stabbed in Newcastle last night.
A 24-year-old was walking on Hunter Street, near the footbridge at Market Street, at around 9:30pm when he was approached by a man.
Police say an altercation took place and he was stabbed in the stomach.
He was taken to John Hunter Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Investigators would like to speak a man described as being Caucasian in appearance with lightly tanned skin.
He’s in his mid 20s and has a skinny build and black hair.
