One game today to wrap up round two in the Real NRL and it was Wests beating local rivals Souths 22-16 at Harker Oval.
Coming off the back of a big loss to Cessnock, the Rosellas made a great start, as Jade Porter handed off to Peter Mannion, who still had work to do.
Wests then doubled their advantage as Porter did all the work himself from close range.
The score blew out to 18-nil when five-eighth Steve Gordon exposed some soft Lions’ defence up the middle.
Souths began to build momentum as big Daniel Nilsson crashed over, but the defending champions hung on by six.
