MAN CHARGED OVER 2012 ROBBERY IN KEMPSEY

A 33-year-old man will face Port Macquarie Local Court later this month, charged over a robbery at Kempsey in 2012.

In November of that year, a 50-year-old woman had just sat down in her car, when she was allegedly threatened at knife point to hand over her bag.

She attempted to kick the man and sustained a knife wound to her foot, before the man fled.

Yesterday detectives arrested a man in Forster, where he was charged with aggravated robbery with wounding.

The arrest is part of Strike Force Mehi 2, which has been investigating a series of armed robberies across the Mid North Coast over the past three years.
