Hundreds turned out in Newcastle today, to celebrate the inaugural Unity in Diversity festival.
The event started with a ‘welcome walk’ from the museum to Civic Park.
“This festival came about as a way to do something positive for the community of Newcastle in light of the Reclaim Australia movement, which is scapegoating a minority part of our community,” said organiser Phillipa Parsons.
