Two elderly people have died, following a head-on car crash south of Bulahdelah.
Emergency services were called to the Pacific Highway near Nerong at around 10am.
Police say a Mazda, which was travelling north, crossed to the wrong side of the road and collided with a Toyota Hilux.
The 72-year-old driver of the Mazda and his 72-year-old female passenger died at the scene, while the driver of the Hilux sustained minor injuries.
Police have issued a warning about the dangers of fatigue.
“I want to take the opportunity to remind all drivers of the need to plan their travel and be mindful of how tired they might be feeling,” said Chief Inspector Trent Le Merton.
