MURDERED POLICE AWARDED FOR COURAGE

Two police officers, who were murdered on the Mid North Coast 20 years ago, have been recognised for their courage and diligence.

Senior constables Peter Addison and Robert Spears responded to a domestic violence report on July 9, 1995 at Crescent Head, when they were shot dead by a local man.

Today, the men’s families recieved the National Police Service Medal in their honour, at a special commemorative service.

Police Commissioner, Andrew Scipione, was among those to pay their respects to the officers.
