FEARNLEY QUALIFIES FOR 5000m FINAL AT IPC WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

Newcastle wheelchair athlete Kurt Fearnley has qualified for tonight’s final of the 5,000 metre race at the Paralympic World Championships in Qatar.
Fearnley had a tough battle with world record holder Marcel Hug from Switzerland in the heats.
“It’s Hug in front of Kurt Fearnley.”
Unfortunately Fearnley wasn’t as lucky in the 1500, missing a place in the final.
“In fifth place is Fearnley and that won’t be enough to qualify.”
