It’s been described as our bloodiest day at war – the Battle of Fromelles, which saw 5,500 Australian casualties in less than 24 hours.
The sacrifice of those men will be centre stage at a special Hunter ANZAC service next year, with preparations beginning today.

Well done on honouring the fallen diggers of Fromelles. So many lives lost. Both my wife & I lost our great uncles in that battle. Same day. Same field. We found out when we visited the battlefield in 2013.
