CHAIN VALLEY MAN TO FACE COURT OVER ALLEGED ARMED ROBBERY ON THE CENTRAL COAST

A 52-year-old male is due to face court on Monday, charged over an armed robbery on the Central Coast late last week.

About 2.30pm on Friday, a man entered a financial institution on the Pacific Highway at Lake Munmorah. He was armed with a pistol and threatened staff, demanding cash.

Staff complied, handing over cash before he fled.

Police attended and conducted a search of the area. A short time later the 52-year-old was arrested at Chain Valley Bay. Officers allegedly located a replica pistol during subsequent searches.

The man was charged with robbery while armed with a dangerous weapon.
