Newcastle wheelchair racer Kurt Fearnley has been chosen to co-captain Australia’s Paralympic team for Rio, alongside table tennis player, Daniela Di Toro.
With nine Paralympics between them, the pair will be our first co-captains since 2004.
Fearnley says it’s an honour to take on the role, which is designed to help create a stronger team atmosphere.
He’s looking forward to mentoring athletes preparing to make their games debut.
