He blitzed the competition in the semi-finals but Hunter-bred swimmer Thomas Fraser Holmes has decided to withdraw from tonight’s final of the men’s 200-metre medley.
He’s already qualified for Rio in three events.
Meanwhile, in the women’s multi-class 100-metre freestyle, fellow Hunter athletes Maddison Elliott and Taylor Corry went head-to-head.
Corry was first to touch the wall, but Elliott was awarded the victory after she clocked a time closer to the world record for her classification.
Corry has since qualified in top spot for the 50 backstroke.
