The state government will spend $1-million dispersing large colonies of flying foxes throughout the north coast.
The animals, which are endangered but spread the Hendra and Lyssa viruses, have long pestered residents throughout parts of Casino and Maclean.
Richmond Valley Council says it’ll be applying for a share of the funding.
