A man from NSW has been charged following a violent robbery on the Gold Coast on Friday.
Around 2:30pm yesterday, a man entered a taxi on Wardoo Street in Southport, before allegedly assaulting the driver on Nerang-Broadbeach Road in Carrara.
Police then say he then forced the driver out, and drove off in the taxi.
The vehicle was later found at a licensed premises in Canungra, where a 32-year-old man was taken into custody.
He was later charged with robbery with violence, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, stealing and wilful damage
The 27-year-old taxi driver was not injured.
