A café and nearby buildings have suffered extensive damage as the result of a fire on the Gold Coast early this morning.
About 2am, emergency services were called to a building fire on Lavarack Road in Mermaid Beach.
The fire is believed to have begun in a café and spread to other businesses, causing extensive damage.
No one was injured.
Investigations are continuing.
