A man has been charged after an alleged coward-punch incident on the Gold Coast early this morning.
Just before 2am, a 19-year-old man from Wyong, was leaving a licensed venue in Orchid Avenue on Surfers Paradise when he was allegedly punched in the head by a man walking behind him.
The victim fell to the ground and hit his head.
He was taken to hospital with head injuries where he remains in a stable condition.
Police have charged a 19-year-old Southport man with assault and say they don’t believe the men knew one another.
