An altercation at a licensed premises left a man hospitalised with a serious head injury on the Gold Coast last night.
Police allege shortly before 7pm, two men became involved in a verbal argument at the business on Gleneagles Drive in Hope Island, which escalated into a physical confrontation.
During the fight, one of the men was punched in the face.
A 56-year-old man from Hope Island fell backwards, and struck his head on the ground. He was taken to hospital in a serious condition.
Investigations are continuing.
