The Guyra Super Spuds hopes of playing rugby league in 2017 are over, after deciding against nominating teams for next season’s Group 19 competition.
It comes despite a strong year, where the first grade side only missed the finals by two wins.
While the Super Spuds are scratched, Group 19 is likely to still be a 10-team competition, with Armidale returning from Group 4.
Warialda, Tingha and Glen Innes have all rebuilt after a year out of the sport… and Narwan has applied to play its first season since 2006.
