A man is dead and another has serious facial injuries after separate incidents involving fireworks on the Central Coast.
Shortly before 3am, emergency services responded to reports a man had been hit by a firework at Budgewoi.
Police say he sustained a serious head injury, and despite efforts to revive him, the 52-year-old died at the scene.
Officers believe the man may have been lighting the firework at the time.
In another incident, a teenager suffered eye injuries when a firework exploded at a Blue Haven shortly after midnight.
He was taken to hospital in a stable condition.
