Wyong Coal says pre-construction plans for the Wallarah 2 mine will commence after the state government approved two mining leases Friday.
The move has been welcomed by the mining union but drawn criticism from MP David Harris.
In a statement he said ‘there’s little confidence’ the ‘security of the Coast’s water supply will be properly protected.’
