MAN NEARLY DROWNS AT BOOMERANG BEACH

Emergency services are pleading with us to stay safe at the beach this summer, after a man nearly drowned at Boomerang Beach on the mid-north coast yesterday afternoon.

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter responded at around 4pm, following reports a 36-year-old man was struggling in the surf.

He was pulled from the water and treated by paramedics.

Thankfully, the chopper was not required.
