THREE PEOPLE CHARGED OVER PURSUIT IN STOLEN CAR

Two young men and a teenage boy have been charged over a police pursuit in Newcastle last night.

Police noticed the driver of a Holden Commodore, reported stolen from an Ashtonfield home two days earlier, speeding at around 11pm.

A pursuit began when the driver failed to stop, but it came to and end due to safety concerns.

With assistance from Polair, the car was later found on Hall Crescent in Tarro.

Three people were seen getting of the car, and ran to hide under a nearby house.

Officers found the trio, and they were taken to Waratah Police Station.

The 21-year old driver from Broadmeadow was given several charges including dangerous driving.

A 19-year-old passenger from Evans Head, was charged with being carried in a conveyance and breaching his bail.

Both men will appear in Newcastle Bail Court today.

A 16-year-old passenger, from Blackalls Park will appear in a children’s court today.
