A teenager has died following a head-on crash near Yamba yesterday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to Yamba Road at Palmers Island, just before 1:30 – where they found a 19-year-old woman trapped in her Mazda.
She was flown to Gold Coast Hospital in a critical condition – with injuries to her head, chest, back and pelvis.
Sadly, she died this morning.
A 79-year-old woman – driving the other vehicle – was uninjured.
Investigations continue.
