Ballina’s Men’s Shed has finally rolled up its doors to the public, showing off new tools and facilities including wood and metal- working equipment .
The group says it comes as a great relief after a challenging couple of years trying to secure grants.
“It’s the culmination of three and a half years of work of making changes and changes and trying to hang onto government funds. It’s been quite a task but we’ve finally made it.”
The Newcastle Permanent Charitable Foundation contributed $62,000 to the project.
