FIREFIGHTERS URGE RESIDENTS TO CHECK SMOKE ALARMS

Firefighters are warning Northern New South Wales homes are among the state’s worst offenders when it comes to having working smoke alarms.

They’ve sent an urgent safety message, following more than 150 blazes north of Sydney this season.
