Central Coast Rugby Union is back underway, after the Easter break. In the match of the round – Gosford edged one step closer to the finals, defeating Kariong 30 points to 6 at the Gosford Showground.

AFL HUNTER CENTRAL COAST ROUND 4 RESULTS
In the AFL Hunter Central Coast competition, Newcastle City defeated Wyong Lakes, and Singleton notched up a victory over Maitland this afternoon. While in the Coast against Coast clash, Terrigal-Avoca took down Killarney Vale, 93 to 20. The Bombers opened the scoring but ultimately failed to go the distance – fading in the final quarter.

CENTRAL COAST RUGBY UNION ROUND 3 RESULTS
In Central Coast Rugby Union, round 3 saw wins for Avoca over Hornsby (24-10). Terrigal beat Warnervale 60-0. Ourimbah thrashed Woy Woy this afternoon 50-12. While Gosford came out triumphant against Kariong at Gosford Showground. The Red Devils thrashing the Wanderers, 30 points to 6. (VISION ONLY)

CENTRAL COAST ROOSTERS MISS SG BALL CUP FINALS BERTH
The Central Coast’s SG Ball Cup grand final hopes have been dashed by Manly. Manly ultimately secured itself a spot in the decider, with a 24 points to 12 win. That’s despite the Roosters’ Riley Meyn scoring the match’s opening try in the 19th minute, and backing it up with another.

MARINERS KEPT COUNTING IN 5-0 LOSS TO CITY
It was a match the Mariners would prefer to forget – the club ending what was already a wooden spoon campaign by going down 5-nil to City. The result in Melbourne sees the Central Coast equal its own record number of losses in a season.

BUCHAN BOWS OUT AT BELLS
Avoca’s Adrian Buchan suffered an agonising loss in the Rip Curl Pro’s round of 32 against Japan’s Kanoa Igarashi. Ace needed close to a seven on his final wave to advance and threw everything into his final manoeuvre, including his knee brace. But it wasn’t enough, going down by 0.14 on Friday.

In rugby league, and Central Coast Roosters Coach Adam McEwen says his SG Ball side played its best half of footy this season in last week’s semi against the Canberra Raiders. They now face Minor Premiers Manly Saturday at Campbelltown with the winner to advance to the Grand Final.

Tour rookie Macy Callaghan has been knocked out of the women’s competition at the Rip Curl Pro. The Avoca surfer struggled early on in the heat, before managing a 6 point ride at Bells Beach. But it was far from enough to secure a spot in the quarterfinals, falling behind Hawaiian Carissa Moore.
