The wet weather across the coast last week saw all three Central Coast Rugby matches played at Woongarrah. Terrigal defeated Gosford. A Shawn Townsend hatrick set up Avoca Beach’s win over Ourimbah and Kariong beat Hornsby by 19 points.

Returning to tennis and the Central Coast has its own rising star in the sport. Teenager Nick De Vivo will Captain New South Wales at the Australian All Schools Championships, and he’s looking to compete in the U-S next year.

SHELLY BEACH CLAIM POOL RESCUE TITLE
Shelly Beach has taken out this year’s Pool Rescue Championships at Mingara. The club was led to victory by powerhouse swimmer, Daniel Kingsley and New South Wales Head Coach, Tom Simpson.

RAZORBACKS THRIVE IN THE MUD
A double from Jarrod Grange has helped the Ourimbah Razorbacks cruise to a 24 point win in muddy conditions against the Lakes. Kariong and Hornsby also scored wins in round 12 of the Central Coast rugby.

STATE HOCKEY HUGE FOR THE COAST
There’ll be an injection of up to two MILLION dollars into the Central Coast’s economy, when it hosts the Under-13’s State Championships, in a fortnight. Meanwhile, in the Over-60s yesterday, Sutherland and Goulburn claimed State Titles.
