Day one of the Dubai Sail Grand Prix didn’t quite go the Aussie’s way but they’re far from giving up just yet. Driver Tom Slingsby has admitted he could have done more to help get the team off to a flying start.

The Central Coast will host two rounds of this season’s Surf Boat Series, with the best local and Hunter crews in action tomorrow at Ocean Beach. Rounds two and three will be held at Scotts Head, followed by Caves Beach. The fifth and final event will be held at Terrigal, next February.

The Central Coast Mariners will be chasing their third successive win when they host Macarthur on Sunday. And, while there’s been enormous praise for young superstar Garang Kuol – there’s another teenager making his mark, in the heart of the Mariners’ defence.

Mariners coach Nick Montgomery is over the moon for his three stars who’ve been selected in the Socceroos World Cup squad. Montgomery though is calling on his side to remain focused on their next A-League match against Macarthur on Sunday.

Narara Wyoming and Southern Spirit will meet again on Saturday to wrap up their two-day match in Central Coast Cricket. Before then though the two side’s will meet in a T20 clash tonight.

The Central Coast’s Declan Squire is about to fight on the international stage – heading to Jakarta for the World Karate Federation Series A competition. But the youngster admits he’ll making the trip underdone – after missing out on a week of training due to a leg injury.

The Socceroos will need some x-factor when the World Cup begins in two weeks…and it could come from two unlikely sources. One is an 18-year-old who hasn’t started a professional game, the other hadn’t even stepped foot in Australia until this year.
