JAMES COURTNEY LEADS IN PRACTICE
It’s been an up and down year for V8 driver James Courtney but the Gold Coaster has given himself every opportunity to finish on top. Courtney was on top of the time sheets after three practice sessions at the Sydney 500 and is eighth overall in the series championship.

Ben Ridge was stretchered off during round 15 last season and didn’t make it back on the field. He’s since had surgery on his shoulder and groin and is now preparing to make a long-awaited return in 2015.

PARKO WITHDRAWS FROM HAWAII COMP AFTER GRAZING REEF
The Gold Coast’s Joel Parkinson has withdrawn from the world cup of surfing, after coming into contact with the reef during a free surf. Parko was surfing backdoor at the time, but will still compete in the season-ending event at Pipeline.

JORDAN HARRISON ON TRACK FOR WORLD CHAMPION SWIMMING TIMES
Jordan Harrison is playing down his chances at the world short course championships, but those close to him believe he could become a world champion within the week. Harrison set the 1500 alight at trials, and wants to go even quicker when he heads to Doha with training partner, Dan Smith.
