Off-contract Melbourne Storm star Cooper Cronk will hold a much-anticipated media conference tomorrow morning to announce which team he’ll be joining. The embattled Gold Coast Titans are the front-runners. But as Cronk looks set to arrive, the Titan’s founding chairman is on the way out, with Paul Broughton announcing his resignation.

CRONK COULD SIGN WITH TITANS
Queensland Origin hero, Cooper Cronk could soon be a Titan. Sources close to the Melbourne Storm star say he intends to sign with the Gold Coast club, perhaps as early as Friday. It’s understood the 27-year-old has done his research on the Titans financial situation, and is satisfied his contract will be honoured.

TITANS’ FINANCE WOES DEEPEN IN FEDERAL COURT
The Titans woes have deepened in the Federal Court today, with a Judge clearing the way for an application to wind-up the Club’s property arm. Reporter Joel Dry was at the Federal Court hearing.

UNITED “GLORY” IN 3 NIL WIN OVER PERTH
Gold Coast United has smashed third placed Perth Glory, three nil in its first win since Boxing Day, and possibly it’s second last A-League game ever. Tweed product James Brown scored two goals. Coach Mike Mulvey says it’s another sign the Coast is a football nursery, that needs to be nurtured with its own club.
