MIRACLE ESCAPE IN HALLORAN LIGHT AIRCRAFT CRASH
A pilot escaped without a scratch after his light aircraft suffered engine failure and crashed on the state’s Central Coast this afternoon. He managed to bring the single-engine plane down on a property, just missing powerlines, buildings and livestock.

LUCKY ESCAPE FOR COUPLE ON PAROO ROAD
A couple has miraculously escaped serious injury at Holgate, after their ute left Paroo Road and ended up more than four metres down an embankment. A woman inside suffered a hand injury, while a man was uninjured – both were taken to Gosford Hospital. It’s the third such crash on the road in six months.

WOMAN KILLED NEAR COONABARABRAN
The Newell highway has reopened following a fatal accident this morning. A woman died after being hit by a car about 35 kilometres south of Coonabarabran. It’s understood she was walking near Hickeys Road at 6.30am. Police are investigating but no charges have been laid.

WOMAN DIES IN MOBILE HOME FIRE
An elderly woman is dead after fire tore through her mobile home on the Central Coast last night. Emergency services arrived to the home in Canton Beach just after 8pm to find it engulfed in flames. The 71-year-old’s body was discovered inside. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
