It was a wet and humid afternoon of football in Coffs Harbour for the under 16s Gold Coast Titans and Newcastle Knights representative trial game. The Titans came out on top, 18-14… the game an opportunity for coaches to pick squads for statewide competitions.

It was the first time cricket had been played under lights at Port Macquarie in more than four years – but it didn’t exactly go to plan. Some of the lights WENT OFF – forcing the umpires to call an early end to the match.

A Forster paddler has qualified to race in the National Dragonboat Championships in Sydney. Wendy Orman has been selected to represent New South Wales, and is also coaching competitors from the Great Lakes.

Kew Country Club junior Flecther Murray is ready to prove he’s consistent, and worthy to be on the golfing scene. The 17-year-old is kick starting the year in Sydney next weekend for the New South Wales Amateur Championship.

GOLF NSW ORDER OF MERIT TOURNAMENT RETURNS TO HARRINGTON
Golfers have teed off for the New South Wales Order of Merit on the mid north coast. Today’s action was at Harrington – the only nine-hole course to feature in the state tournament.

PINK SILKS RACE DAY FOR COFFS HARBOUR
The Pink Silks Charity Race Day in Coffs Harbour reached a milestone today raising $one-million dollars for reasearch and local cancer charities over its 14-year history. A seven race program drew a big crowd of supporters.
