OXLEY HIGH WINS PENALTY SHOOTOUT TO PROGRESS TO BILL TURNER TROPHY QUARTER FINALS
Tamworth’s Oxley High School, Hunter Sports High, and Byron Bay High have all progressed to the quarter-finals of the Bill Turner Cup. The Round of 16 games were played today – one of the girls matches, sent to a penalty shootout.

In Group 2 rugby league, the Grafton Ghosts put on one the best ever performances in a grand final, smashing Coffs Harbour yesterday. The Comets had no answer for the Ghosts who ran riot scoring 68 points to six.

Taree has claimed a spot in the Mid North Coast rugby union grand final, after Saturday’s win over Wallambah. It’s the first time in four years the Manning River Ratz will play in the big day.

In the Group 2 women’s league tag grand final, underdogs Coffs Harbour, staged a major upset today with a dominant win over minor premiers, Macksville. The Comets led from the start and were never threatened by the Sea Eagles.
