Swimmers from Forster and Macksville have posted big scores on day one of the North Coast Championships. The best of the best were looking to qualify for New South Wales Country at the end of next month.

Ladies league tag will be front and centre of sporting action in Macksville next Saturday, with a bumper clash between Group 2 and Group 3 representative teams. Players will be fighting for a spot in the North Coast side.

Forster Surf Life Saving Club will be riding the waves at Caves Beach this weekend for the final round of the Inflatable Rescue Boat series. The group 2 competition’s back on this weekend, after a break. No injuries have been reported, but clubs are struggling with numbers, with Orara forfeiting its reserve grade game. NOTE: Bellingen will play against Grafton in Reserve Grade this week.

SURFMASTERS STATE TITLES UNDERWAY AT BOOMERANG BEACH TOMORROW
The Surfmasters State Titles are returning to Boomerang Beach this week with the first heats getting underway from tomorrow. Over 150 surfers will compete for a spot in the national titles, held at Tweed Head later this year. This is the eighth year the Great Lakes has hosted the event. (VISION ONLY)
