Laurieton’s Bailey Whitton is closer to securing the Olympic Trial time for the 50 metre freestyle, after scoring a new personal best at the Australian Titles. Fellow swimmer Claire McIntosh, also celebrating after making the finals in the multi-class 50 backstroke.

GROUP 2 RUGBY LEAGUE SEASON 2021
In the much anticipated opening round of the Group 2 Rugby League season, Macksville’s Sea Eagles were too good for South Grafton, downing the Rebels by 26 points. The Ghosts outclassed the Magpies. And the Comets had a win over the Seahorses.

PORT MACQUARIE ROWING CLUB GO FROM STRENGTH TO STRENGTH
To rowing and Port Macquarie has taken out two podium finishes in the single scull at this weekend’s Edward Trickett New South Wales Grade Championship. It follows a string of medals for the club at this year’s Central District championship.

Blustery, southerly winds made tricky conditions for sailors taking part in today’s Coffs Coast sprint. The inaugural event drew single hull competitors from across the state.
