The NRL is headed to Coffs Harbour next year – the league announcing today six matches will be played in regional New South Wales. The Cronulla Sharks will host a game at Coffs Harbour’s C.ex International Stadium. Other regional centres include Bathurst, Wagga Wagga, Tamworth, Dubbo and Mudgee. The full draw will be released tomorrow.

Three Coffs Harbour teenagers – including two brothers – have smashed qualifying times to compete in the National Open Water Championships. The boys have thrown themselves into training for the Sydney comp in January.

With less than two weeks to go until this year’s Touch Football State Cup, the Port Macquarie Makos are ramping up training. The mixed seniors side hopes to back up last year’s win but the restructured format means it will be a survival of the fittest.

Local driver, Scott Hargans, has taken out this year’s Go Kart TAG 125 Open Light Division. Held today at Coffs Harbour, the event celebrated it’s 25th anniversary.

Thirty-five crews from Noosa to Sydney have contested the third round of the North Coast Surf Boat Series at Park Beach today. Conditions were favourable, though most crews would have liked more swell.
