The Kootingal Roosters have played their final home game of the season, with a convincing win over Narrabri. After a slow start in the first half, the side came out all guns blazing in the second, taking a 25 point victory.

The final round of the C-N-R-U provided yet another top of the table clash, with the Gunnedah Bulldogs taking on the Narrabri Blue Boars. The Blue Boar looked in control early on, coming away with the win despite a late comeback from the devils.

The North West Regional rugby youth competition has drawn to a close, with more than a thousand students filling Scully Park for the finals. After a very tight match, the Under 18’s Farrer boys took home the park Stewart Walsh Cup.

This weekend’s preliminary finals are do-or-die for the Inverell Hawks. The side fronts the Moree Boomerangs on Sunday, at home.

Local rugby union fans are in for a top-of-the-table clash this weekend as the Gunnedah Red Devils prepare to take on the Narrabri Blue Boars. Devils captain Jack Morrissey says he’s confident his crew will hold onto the top spot.

Bringing more than just a game, the Wests Tigers home match in Tamworth gave the chance to build on grassroots Rugby League in the town. The North Tamworth Bears made the most of it, with a jam-packed week of activities – and hope there’ll be more to come.

The Narwan Eels have made the group 19 grand final, after thrashing the Inverell Hawks. Tyler Carson was a standout in the match, taking out a hat trick in the 28 point victory.
