Cody Morgan was the name on everyone’s lips over the weekend – with the Tamworth trainer pulling some impressive results on the track. Mr Morgan was the man behind “Pat’s Nipper” and “Legulate” – two competitors that brought home wins at Rosehill.

500 competitors are expected to don a pair of sneakers this weekend, for the annual Tamworth Running Festival. The popular event is home to the 3rd oldest fun run in New South Wales and has a race for every age and ability.

North Tamworth thrashed Narrabri yesterday in Group 4 rugby league, while Werris Creek defeated the Bulldogs by six-points. Meanwhile at Kootingal, the Roosters celebrated their charity day, by wearing a commemorative jersey.  

West Tamworth Tennis Club is aiming to be the region’s first wheelchair accessible club. The group is now trying to rally votes, to get the design concept over the line.

Robb College has wrapped-up the 2019 minor premiership beating the Armidale Blues yesterday, in the final round of the New England Rugby Union competition. Meanwhile Saint Alberts recorded an upset win over the Tamworth Magpies, as they celebrated ‘Ladies Day.’
