They were the 2018 premiership winners – cruising through the Northern Inland Premier League undefeated. Twelve-months on, Tamworth FC are again setting the pace, although with a slightly different playing roster.  

The Tamworth Magpies will cap-off the New England Rugby Union competition this weekend by honouring the women within the club. It’s been labelled as their ‘biggest social event of the year’ and the Magpies are going all out, starting with a commemorative jersey.  

The Tamworth Thunderbolts are looking for a win against the Central Coast Crusaders when they compete in the last round of the competition this weekend. This game will be the perfect warm up before the pools of the Waratah State League cross-over to contest the semi-finals.  

Tamworth Gymnastics Club has added another win to its fast-growing list of accolades, after a successful Country Championships. Not only was Josie Douglas named highest point-scorer, but the club took out the overall title.

It’s been a huge year for pro-basketballer Nick Kay, with his list of achievements growing by the day. The Tamworth product dropped home for a quick visit today, as preparations ramp up for the World Cup.

It was a significant weekend for the Tamworth Hockey Association, with a record number of teams participating in the Kim Small Shield and York Cup. The event honours two of the region’s former Olympians, as the club enters a new era for the sport.  

The Tamworth Swans recorded their first win in several in North West AFL, beating the New England Nomads on the weekend by 12-points. Tamworth’s Jack Davis is gearing up to race in Belgium at the UCI World Championships. The BMX rider, who’s based in America, will represent Australia in the under-19 division. Davis will compete against the world’s best riders across the four-days, before returning to the States. PLEASE NOTE: AUDIO UNAVAILABLE.  

It’s been another successful weekend for the Tamworth Thunderbolts, with the women’s team beating the Camden Valley Wildfire yesterday by 51-points. Meanwhile last night at the Sports Dome, the Bolts men’s side downed the Newcastle Hunters.  

They’re two Central North Rugby sides that could well go head-to-head come grand final day. A slow start by the Moree Bulls yesterday led to their downfall, as Walcha prevailed in the top of the table clash.
