Brendan Rixon will mark his 200th game, when Tamworth takes on Walcha Rams in this weekend’s Central North Rugby Union. The Pirates notched up a 54 point win last time the sides met in May, and his experience is hoped to inspire a number of young starters to a similar result.

Thousands of young athletes arrived in Tamworth over the weekend, to participate in the Northern Inland Academy of Sport’s Primary Games. Competitors aged between 8 and 13 were finally able to put their skills on show – after years of disruptions due to COVID.

Tamworth has hosted the regional country carnival for baseball for the first time… holding both the womens and mens under eighteens. The competition wrapped up today… now organisers hope the event will return to the city next year.

You might of thought there was a fire outside of Tamworth today with the amount of smoke in the air but in fact it was just burning rubber. Hundreds of revheads filled the local speedway for the first ‘Supernats Regional Revfest’ and promoters don’t expect the event to be a one-off.
