It was a long drive for Newcastle’s Graham Gosling, though one certainly worth while – winning last night’s Double Barrel Continental Championship. Held under lights at the Tamworth Clay Target Club, the event capped-off a massive season.  

His prowess is centred around his climbing ability – a quality that has Dylan Sunderland scaling heights in the world of cycling. He won the Tour of Tasmanian last month, with his most recent accolade being selection in the Australian men’s elite cycling team.  

Some of the region’s most promising athletes where recognised today at the annual schools presentation. The North West Schools Sports Association awards are always hotly contested, with this year being no different.  

He’s certainly familiar with fast finishes, with the back-end of season 2018 delivering a flurry of honours to cyclist Dylan Sunderland. Having won the Tour of Tasmania last month, the Inverell rider has now been named in the 2019 men’s Santos Down Under Tour team. PLEASE NOTE: AUDIO UNAVAILABLE.  

It’s a testament to Hockey New England, with players returning from the recent State Indoor Championships with a chest of gold medals. That success leading to junior state selection, with players to represent various New South Wales teams.  

The last competitive shoot of the year is expected to be quite the show at the Tamworth Clay Target Club this Friday night. Up to fifty marksmen and women are ready to battle it out for the New South Wales Double Barrel Continental Championships.

A 5am wake-up to go for a bike ride is a daunting thought for most, but for 16-year old Luke Deasey, it’s his regular routine. His hard work has paid off – he’s been selected for a development squad which will see him take on the nation.
