Young racing enthusiasts have flocked to Tamworth to compete in the first event in the Speedway Super Series. After weather delays, this is the first of four to be held throughout the state.

Other than the grand final, it’s the match both towns Gunnedah and Narrabri have circled on their calendar each year… where the Red Devils take on the Blue Boars. And this season, their first meeting is a top of the table clash.

Hard work has payed off for the Central North Women’s side in the Country Championships. Four months of preparation has lead to a historical weekend of rugby from the Kookaburras.

In another success for Tamworth – the Southern Hemisphere’s largest baseball carnival saw more than 700 players compete in the region over the weekend.

The local boys have ended Tamworth’s annual Country Championship on a high. The blazing Central North outfit, taking home the Richardson’s Shield, after delivering a convincing 41 to 17 win over Mid North.

Gymnasts from far and wide have travelled to Tamworth this weekend for the annual Country Champs Cup. The cup is an invitation only event- seeing some of Australia’s best athletes hit the mat.

The annual June long weekend baseball carnival got underway in Tamworth today…a womens division added for the first time.

The Central North womens side started the Rugby Country Championships with a dominant display over New England. But it was much closer game against Western Plains.
