The Sydney Thunder have lost their first game of Women’s Big Bash, going down by 30 runs to the Adelaide Strikers. NIAS AWARDS CEREMONY CANCELLED, ONLINE EVENT TO REPLACE IT
The annual NIAS awards evening has been cancelled, organisers citing increased COVID cases in the region posing a risk to attendees. Instead, an online awards ceremony will be organised to acknowledge the achievements of this year’s athletes. More details will be announced soon.

WADE RYAN FIGHT MOVED TO SYDNEY
Same date, different venue. Wade Ryan’s November 17 fight that was meant to be in Queensland has been forced to move south to Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena. The Gunnedah boxer will be contending the IBO Intercontinental Super Welterweight Title against Ben Mahoney. His match is the undercard for the Tszyu versus Inoue showdown. (VISION ONLY)
