The future of the New England Rugby Union comp remains foggy, as Tamworth goes into lockdown. Executives are yet to decide whether to wait till the week is over, or end it altogether.

MORE SPORT CANCELLED AS TAMWORTH GOES INTO LOCKDOWN
More cancellations have been announced for New England, North West sport in line with lockdown restrictions. Group 4 Rugby League has postponed this weekend’s W-E-G matches, but the board is hopeful missed games can go ahead after lockdown. NIAS has also ceased all sporting activities, training sessions, and its Annual Academy Awards Night.

It was a nail-biting top of the table clash in round 17 of Central North Rugby Union. After coming off second best in the first half, the Boars couldn’t close the gap and the Devils narrowly took the game 24-22.

Tamworth has proven to be a breeding ground for hockey stars, one competing in Tokyo this year. But this morning it was 200 Tadpoles that were dipping their toe in the hockey pond.

SPORTS POSTPONED DUE TO ARMIDALE’S COVID OUTBREAK
Armidale’s covid outbreak has forced sporting clubs across the region to postpone their matches. All Men’s and Women’s North West AFL semi-finals games will be rescheduled. As well as New England Rugby Union’s last round before finals selection. Group 19 Rugby League, also scrapped.

PRIMARY TOUCH COMPETITION TO KICK OFF ON MONDAY
Tamworth’s Touch Football Association says registrations are coming in hard and fast for its primary competition. Schools all over the city have shown interest, with extra spots available for individual players. Students aged five to twelve are welcome. Competition starts Monday. (VISION ONLY)
