It was an action-packed weekend in the Northern Inland Premier League. Gunnedah was out for redemption after yesterday’s fiery clash with Tamworth, but Norths took the game 2-0. The mushies thrashed Tamworth FC 5-1. And South United have taken home their second win of the weekend after beating Kootingal two-nil yesterday.

GLEN INNES’ ALEX NEWSOME SIGNS YEAR EXTENSION WITH WARATAHS
Glen Innes product, Alex Newsome has committed to another year with the Waratahs. The vice-captain signing a one-year extension. Under the deal, he’ll continue to wear sky blue until the end of 2022, and add to his 50 super rugby caps. Newsome has been with the Tahs since 2018.
