Tamworth’s Jack Davis has confirmed he’ll compete in next year’s state BMX series starting in Februray. Usually travelling around the world to compete – Davis hopes to dominate on home soil.

Alister Lyne has taken out today’s A-grade competition at the Gunnedah Sporting Clays, as the club hosted its final event of the year. Melissa Phillips won the women’s division, while Gunnedah’s Matt Duncan claimed the high gun competition.

There hasn’t been too many representative rugby sides that haven’t featured Tamworth’s Claudia Nielsen this season. Now the 23-year-old has caught the eye of the Waratahs, edging her closer to her dream of playing for her home state in the Super W.

The Gunnedah Sporting Clays will be out in force on Sunday. Despite a tricky year, the club is hoping to see 100 shooters trying their luck at the annual Christmas competition.

Central North will have to wait another 12-months to try to win an elusive New South Wales Country Championships title. The carnival wrapped-up yesterday on the Central Coast, in what was a hot and humid couple of days.

Two Under-17s squads will represent North West Regional Youth Rugby next month at the State 7’s Championships in Bowral. The competition, bringing together boys and girls from Central North and New England zones.
