PHONE SERVICES RESTORED TO MULLUMBIMBY AFTER FIRE
Mullumbimby’s phone tower has been restored to full service, after it was damaged by fire in March. An investigation into the fire was established by police, with Telstra believing it was deliberately lit. While temporary equipment was brought in after the damage, coverage was limited.

CORAKI FIRE STATION’S MILLION DOLLAR UPGRADE UNVEILED
NBN News has been given an exclusive look inside one of the state government’s Grants Blitz centres, in the Northern Rivers. A million dollar upgrade to Coraki fire station was also unveiled today, after recently providing shelter to flood victims.

NORTHERN RIVERS BUSINESS HUB REBUILDING FOR RESILIENCE SESSION KICKS OFF
The Northern Rivers Business Hub kicked off its “Subject Matter Expert Series” today with a presentation on resilience. The forum held at Southern Cross University explored adapting urban environments to withstand floods, cyclones, bushfires and storm surges. The exercise has been created to help refurbish and rebuild commercial premises.

GRANTS BLITZ HELPING FLOOD VICTIMS BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND
The state government’s Grants Blitz team will return to Casino and Lismore this week. It follows more than 200 flood-related grants, totalling $2.5 million dollars being approved at Goonellabah. The team will then travel to Evans Head next week to support communities in Broadwater, Coraki, Woodburn and surrounds.
