COVID CASES INCREASE OVERNIGHT IN NORTHERN NSW
There’s been an increase in covid cases in Northern New South Wales, with the region recording 409 new infections. Majority are in The Tweed, Lismore and Clarence Valley shires. 46 patients are in hospital, fortunately no one is in ICU.

CASINO CAR FIRE BEING TREATED AS SUSPICIOUS
Fire and Rescue is investigating a vehicle fire in Casino last night, which is currently being treated as suspicious. Just after 11:30pm, fire crews were called to Spring Grove Road. Upon arrival, firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the blaze. It’s not known how the fire started, but thankfully, no one was injured.

FLOODING EASING ALONG CLARENCE RIVER AS MINOR FLOOD WARNING IS ISSUED FOR THE TWEED RIVER
Flooding is easing along the Clarence River with the SES issuing the “all clear” for residents to return to Hardwood Island, Goodwood Island and Iluka. Further north, a minor flood warning has been issued for the Tweed River at Tumbulgum and Chinderah. The SES is expecting high tide to peak tonight at 9pm.
