Lismore & Kyogle Bridges Open after flood damage
Lismore’s mayor and state politicians joined to officially open the new Keerrong Bridge today. The $517,000 structure replaces a flood-damaged culvert that was completely washed away during March’s flood. It comes as Cedar Point Bridge was also opened in Kyogle. That project is expected to spare truck drivers from a 10 kilometre detour. (NO AUDIO)

Xavier Catholic College recognised for operating as evacuation centre & makeshift hospital in February flood disaster
Xavier Catholic College has been recognised for its contribution in February and March’s flood disasters. The school operated as an evacuation centre for up to 700 displaced residents, as well as a makeshift hospital. The school sustained infrastructure damage during that time – with the state government today locking in more than $200,000 for repairs.…

Tweed Council wraps up river cleanup after seven months
Tweed Shire Council has wrapped up its clean up of the Tweed River – with more than 890 square metres of debris removed. The clean up, which began in April used underwater divers and barge-mounted excavators to clear the river. Among the items found were cars, fallen trees and even a boat pontoon. (NO AUDIO)
