    GAV’S WEATHER: COOLER SOUTH-EAST WINDS HAVE SETTLED IN

    Cloudy with scattered showers along the east coast thanks to moist onshore winds. It will still be quite warm for the North-West Plains with partly cloudy skies. The cooler moist South-East winds will continue for most of the first week of 2017 triggering isolated showers for coastal communities.

    INCREASE IN SHARK SIGHTINGS ATTRIBUTED TO COLD CURRENTS

    Blacksmiths Beach was closed again this morning, with another confirmed shark sighting. The increase is being attributed to the colder than normal water temperatures. While it’s been very hot on the sand, the water has been chilly, due to constant north easterlies causing cold upwelling.
