Terrigal Avoca have booked themselves a date in the black diamond AFL grandfinal, after a win over powerhouse side Newcastle City at the weekend. The Panthers haven’t been been in contention for the flag since 2004, and are every bit confident they’ll take it home.

PANTHERS QUALIFY FOR AFL GRAND FINAL
There were mixed fortunes for Central Coast teams in the Black Diamond AFL Finals at the weekend. Terrigal Avoca defeated reigning premiers Newcastle City to advance to the Grand Final. The Panthers led at every change, in its four-goal victory. Meanwhile Killarney Vale’s finals campaign is over; going down to Cardiff by 27 points.

With second spot up for grabs in the Black Diamond AFL competition, Terrigal Avoca are determined to make it theirs. Panthers midfielder Matthew Cilia (SILL-E-A) will return to the starting line-up and believes his side will produce the goods against Cardiff.

Kilarney Vale coach Todd Clarke believes more consistency is needed for his side to become Black Diamond AFL premiership contenders. The Bombers have dropped back to fourth, after losing the local derby to Terrigal Avoca.

Terrigal Avoca’s flogging of Lake Macquarie at the weekend has given the Panthers new focus. Round six of the AFL Black Diamond Competition will see a derby game for the Panthers as they take on Kilarney Vale.
